Hair Relaxer Is Still An Option Albeit A Dangerous One

There was a time when you want to have your hair straightened and the only option that you had back then was a hair relaxer.  So many people have tried relaxing their hair only to end up with dry, brittle hair. What you have to know is that a hair relaxer is a solution that you apply to your hair to straighten it out.

Sounds simple and it should not cause any problems to anybody right? Wrong.  As people who have been relaxing their hair have complained on different hair problems such as: hair breakage, thinning of hair, baldness and hair loss, scalp irritation, scalp damage and others.

Another thing you have to know about a hair relaxer is that there are two kinds of hair relaxers: One is the "lye" relaxer and the other is the "no lye" relaxer. The difference can be seen by the way they are called.  One has lye while the other kind has no lye.

Actually if these two kinds of hair relaxers are used improperly, that is when the problem starts. These chemicals tend to over process your hair which is why those who have their hair relaxed should listen carefully to their hair dressers because they are the experts in the field of hair and beauty. There are certain rules that one should follow especially if you already had tried relaxing the hair.

The most important thing you have to know about getting your hair relaxed is your hair would be required to undergo through healthy hair care treatments for a long, long time.  It is a commitment on your part to your hair.  Hair is your crowning glory and a person should take of the hair.

This could be the reason why people end up with damaged hair because after the hair relaxer technique, they never went back to the salon for hair treatments.  But I somehow understand why there are still some people who opt to have their hair relaxed and that is because of budget.  It is cheaper and they somehow get what they paid for and that is straight hair.
